At CMDA, we have provided students with an exciting performance experience through our annual concert for over 34 years. The concert is a cherished tradition at our dance school, evoking childhood memories for many. It is a significant milestone for thousands of young dancers, an opportunity to shine in front of loved ones that fills them with nervous excitement.

It’s a Big Deal

Our concert offers students a professionally directed performance, allowing them to showcase their hard work, dedication, and progress to their families and friends.
Performance opportunities are an essential part of dance training. While they can prepare some students for a potential dance career, they also contribute to children's success in non-dance activities.
The experience of performing helps build self-esteem and self-confidence, leading to better in-school presentations, improved social skills, and stronger interview abilities for future studies or job opportunities.

The rehearsal process is also a valuable learning experience. It helps children develop retention skills, and by working with their classmates on a group performance, they learn the positive aspects of teamwork in achieving the best result. Dance is very much a team sport.
Commitment to the concert is a shared responsibility between students, parents, and teachers to ensure this is a fantastic experience for your child and you !!! We have a very committed group of wonderful teachers. It’s a beautiful time for the kids and beautiful memories for you to share.

This information goes to the whole school and covers all times and rehearsals for the rest of the year, so it’s every student's rehearsal time.
It’s a lot. If your child is in one dance, it’s not much; if they are in two, twice as much, etc. You need to know the names of your child's dances - these will be out soon and you can see them in your child's class list in your portal. In time, a running order of our concerts with names in each performance will be posted here.
I will need you to check I have your child in the correct groups and that their name is spelled how you want it to appear - this list is used for everything, program, costumes, trophies.
I realise the concert is a lot of time and expense; I don’t take that lightly. I hope you feel it was worth it in the end.
