Rehearsals 2026
Rehearsals really matter — otherwise, we wouldn’t do them. They give students a chance to get comfortable on stage, practise in their costumes, and understand the stage entrances, exits, lighting, and music. It’s all about making the performance feel familiar so the concert itself is a positive experience.
For some of our little ones, the first or even second rehearsal can feel overwhelming, and they may not make it onto the stage right away. That’s okay — by the final run, most are up there having the best time!
Your child will only be needed for their allocated class time (these times will be shared next term).

Not dress rehearsal - just normal studio uniform/dancewear.

Finale Rehearsal - Our Toukley Studios
7th November
Normal Studio Uniform/Dancewear
All students are required to participate in the finale, which will be taught and rehearsed on the 7th of November.
The finale is only done at our 2nd show on Saturday - so no preschoolers need to do finale rehearsal. I might try and sort a Lil Groovers finale for the Saturday morning show but haven't finalised that as of yet
On the Friday show, all students can leave as soon as they have danced if their parents aren't in the audience watching the show.
The finale is like the final bow – we choreograph a small, fun routine that the whole school does together, along with each class doing their own bows.
The kids love it – it's a fun celebration for them and a time to enjoy the applause.
All awards and presentations are given out after the finale at our second show, while we have the kids on stage.
Classes will be run after the finale rehearsal for selected groups - all to come later.
A run-through of the finale will take place at the start of each rehearsal at The Art House (17th and 18th Nov).
All students will need to change into their CMDA uniform or colours at both concerts for the finale.
Cost is $10 for Finale Rehearsal and $15 capped if your child has their dance rehearsal after.
All students to change into their CMDA uniform for finale in the night shows.
Sprouts Seniors and Solos are welcome to stay in their costumes.
Northlakes High School - Full Dress Rehearsal/Photo Day
Saturday 14th November 2026 - Stage Rehearsal and Photo Day.
Each class is allocated 15 minute stage time. Your child is not needed for the entire day, and you are welcome to watch - please only one parent per child - it is a nice day with them - chaos but nice.
We will do stage rehearsal first and then our teachers will walk them to their photos.
Rehearsal Cost is $10.00 if your child is in one dance, $16.00 if they are in 2, capped at $20 for 3 or more - 2nd child 1/2 price.

Full Show Run Through
Northlakes High School – Saturday 21st November
This is our full concert run-through, giving everyone a chance to practise the flow of the show before we head into concert week.
Lil Groovers – 9:00am
Our Lil Groovers will start at 9:00am and run through all of their concert dances.
Once they have finished dancing, we will present them with their class trophies and they are then free to head home.
This means our littlest dancers don't need to stay for the longer full-school rehearsal.
Night Shows Rehearsals
Arrival: 9:45am
Rehearsal: Approx. 10:00am – 1:00pm
Once the rest of the school has arrived, we will begin with a full Finale rehearsal.
After the Finale, we will present trophies — every student receives a trophy.
We will then begin our full show run-through, working through the dances in the order of our night shows. This is really important as it gives the students a chance to understand how the concert will flow, practise their changes and get used to where they need to be throughout the show.

Hair and Makeup
Hair tutorial
All students need to have their hair and make-up done for the concert.

Please follow the hairstyle shown in the tutorial.
Hair must be slick, wispy bits do show up under the lights.
Make-Up
All students need to wear stage make-up for the concert. The stage lights are very bright and without make-up, faces can look washed out from the audience.
You don't need to buy anything fancy — just use what you have or something similar.
As a guide:
Foundation: To match skin tone
Blush: Soft pink or peach
Eyeshadow: Neutral colours such as beige or light brown
Eyeliner: Black or brown
Mascara: Black
Lips: Red lipstick or lip gloss
False eyelashes: Optional — only if your child is comfortable wearing them
If your child isn't used to having their hair or make-up done, it's a good idea to have a practice at home before the concert. It makes concert day much easier and gives you a chance to work out what works best before the big day.
Make up Tutorial
Tips and Other Handy Extras
A few extra things that are always handy to have in your child's concert bag:
Baby wipes or make-up remover wipes – for fixing make-up mistakes, sticky hands or quick clean-ups
Baby powder – great for itchy costumes
Safety pins – for any last-minute costume emergencies
Clear nail polish – handy for stopping small holes or runs in tights from getting worse
Band-Aids – preferably the clear or "invisible" kind
Class Awards
All students will receive a trophy at our full stage run through on the 21st of November.
Please let me know if any students are up for their 5/10 or 15-year award.
Ticket Sales
Ticket information will be posted on this site as soon as I have it.
The theatre runs this part of the show. I will send out a separate note when this information comes through.
Cost will be similar to last year but like everything at this point a price rise is to be expected.
