This is one of the biggest days of our concert season, and it’s an important one. I’m always trying to make the day smoother and easier to manage, but it will always be a big day — and super exciting for the kids.

We will have one professional photographer this year, along with two extra-large white backdrops. This will give plenty of space for jumps and group photos.

This is a large day to coordinate, so please come calm and ready to enjoy it.

*One parent/adult per dancer only.

How the day works:

One group will be on stage for dance rehearsal while another group is having their photos taken.

Groups will have time in between to get changed.

Some students may not have a break or only have one dance in between. These students are noted, and we will make sure we wait for them and work it out.

When ready, all photos will be uploaded to the photographer's website. You will receive a link and password to download them.

A date for when photos will be available has not yet been confirmed. As soon as I know, you will know - but it does take a while and normally into the new year.

Opting out of photos:

You do not have to get your child’s photos.

If you opt out, please let me know so the cost can be removed from your invoice, and our teachers will be informed not to include your child in group poses.

Opting out of individual photos also means your child will not be in group photos.

Parents must inform me if their child is not getting photos — if a photo is taken, you will be charged, as I am charged by the photographer.

What your child needs:

Arrive dressed in their first costume, with hair and make-up complete.

Each child will have a group photo plus two solo photos in each costume.

Stage photos during the Thursday show are also included in the package.

Make-up and hair:

Keep makeup light: lip gloss, a little blush, mascara. Stage make-up is heavier due to lighting, but for photos, light is fine.

Hair must be slick, neat, and tidy.

Parents

Please stay away from the photography area — we’ve got this.

Parents calling names or giving directions makes it harder for the kids to focus.

If we need you, we will call you.

**Seniors, if at any time the photographer is free, go and get your group solo shots.

Photo Costs

$40 if your child is in one dance (2 solo photos + all stage and group photos)

$70 if in 2 dances (2 solo photos per dance + all stage and group photos)

$100 if in three or more dances (all photos as above)

These amounts will be added to Term Four accounts; no action is needed from parents.

Photos and videos may also be used for next year’s marketing, public media, and studio photos. If you do not want your child included, please notify me.
